M. 3 u 28 Brethrens Family Almanac ii. A Sketch of the Life of Elder Samuel Mohler. Eld. Samuel Mohler was a member of alarge family who resided in Juniata County,Pa. At the age of twenty Bro. Samuel wasmarried to Catharine Saylor, a relative ofBro. D. P. Saylor, deceased. Soon after thisunion they, by mutual consent, journeyedover the mountains to one of the Antietams,near Waynesborough, where a second unionwas consummated by them, with the churchin holy baptism. Their loyalty to both ofthese unions, entered into by them in earlylife, was characterized by many long years ofuntiring zeal and visible fruits of prosperity. Shortly after this they moved to Ohio, andlocated near Covington. In this vicinity helived about sixty-two years. He came toOhio when markets were far away, and theconveniences of life were few. Many of theroads were almost impassable during portionsof the year. Ohios heavy, timbered forestsstretched far and wide. He lived to see andenjoy the changes and improvements nowabounding on every hand in this fert
