Cervical wart. Light micrograph of a section through a wart (upper frame) on the cervix (neck of the uterus). This wart is caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Although most warts are benign (not cancerous), some strains of HPV have been associated with cancers, especially cervical cancer.
