A French gilt small-sword with chiselled hilt, circa 1760 Thrusting blade of diamond section (somewhat later) with ornamental etching in the fullers on both sides. Openwork chiselled iron hilt (somewhat pitted) with relief decoration on a gilt background. The guard plate and pommel bear depictions of lovers within rocaille decoration (pommel and quillons broken on one side). Twisted copper and iron wire grip binding with Turk's heads.
