The principle is a shear cut between two cylinders revolving the same way, at different velocities—the knives feeding themselves without the aid of any complicated Feed Gear, to get out of order and increase the labor of cutting. They cut Hay, Straw and Stalks equally well, and for this reason are preferable to " Sanford'; They are, besides, self-sharpening.
