The medallion in the center shows a woman's head and profile (symbol of the French Republic) that is turned to the right with the inscription 'Republique Francaise' in gold letters on a blue background, the reverse shows two crossed French flags on a gold background with the inscription 'Honneur et Patrie' in gold letters on a blue background. The order mark is worn on an oak and laurel wreath and as a whole hangs on a red sling. The ordester is a brilliant silver five-armed star with five smooth rays between the arms, the silver medallion shows a woman's head as on the order mark and has the inscription 'Republique Francaise - Honneur et Patrie'. The lid is lined with white silk on the inside, the decorations lie on a beige velvet rise, below which lies the shoulder strap.
