RADIUM IN CANCER 533 Recurrence after operation frequently requires treatment. Smallnodules readily respond, and often entirely disappear. Enlarged glands arereduced in size. Radium applicators may be used directly over particularglands or groups of glands with a fair measure of success. In a numberof cases, where there is a possibility of doing good, radium tubes may beinserted into the recurrent mass.
