A vintage press photo of HMS Nelson, (pennant number 28) at one time the world's most powerful battleship equipped with nine 16 inch guns. It was built by Armstrong-Whitworth, South Tyneside -- Laid down 28th December 1922 -- Launched 3rd September 1925 - Commissioned on 15th August 1927 --- Decommissioned February 1948 and used for target practice exercises before being scrapped at Inverkeithing , Scotland
