Barstow was a greatlover of sociability and fun; like James DuaneDoty, he had no enemies save those made by politics, ~and it is sad to record that one who had occupiedsuch high places and possessed so many friends,and who loved so dearly the kind offices of friend-ship, should, as Gov.
