The Marines are participating in KAMANDAG, a bilateral exercise that increases the ability of the and the Philippines to rapidly respond to terrorist threats and humanitarian crises. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase "Kaagapay Ng Maddirigma Ng Dagat," which translates to "Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea."
