View NE of the stepped working faces (ponciau, galleries), of the Vivian slate quarry, Llanberis, Wales, UK, with an aerial ropeway (blondin), cable winch & railway truck above the pool. The 50-foot deep pit or sinc was flooded after the quarry closed in 1964, it is used by the Vivian Diving Centre & as a film location. The quarry is named after W W Vivian, the Dinorwic Quarry Company manager in the late 1800s. The Dinorwig Slate Quarry Mountain Landscape is part of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales which became the UK's 32nd UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 July 2021.
