Triangular-headed doorway to pre-Conquest W tower of the Former Church of Holy Trinity, Colchester, Essex, England, UK, built of re-used Roman brick.

Triangular-headed doorway to the pre-Conquest W tower of the Former Church of Holy Trinity, Colchester, Essex, England, UK, built largely of re-used Roman brick. The early-mid C11th tower of three stages was formerly attached to a church of c 1000, only the W wall of which survives. The rest of the present redundant church is mainly C14th & C15th. Anglo-Saxon windows often have triangular heads, but it is unusual to find one over a doorway.
