The plants make a quick, healthy growth and the stalks are thick, very tender and brittle, with a rich flavor which will quickly appeal to all who eat it, and the ease with which it may he blanched, together with its long season for use, will strongly recommend it both to the amateur gardener as well as the commercial Celery grower. An attractive feature of this variety is that while the outer stalks are green, it naturally produces many golden hearts, which are decidedly crisp, very tender and of ex- cellent flavor. In addition to these desirable qualities, it is one of the best of the winter-keeping Celeries, and may be allowed to remain in the trench for a long time, and will come out in first-class condition, solid and free from rot. The plants make a strong growth and are very easy to blanch, which is a decided advantage to the amateur gar- dener, and also a valuable feature for the market grower.
