Gigas, Mossia? and Meydellii are abundant. From $10 to $40 per hundred was the Saturday quotation. The weddings of June should maintain a better average. Four dol- lars per hundred would have bought the best of the lilies Memorial day. Hun- dreds were sold at $2 and $3 per hun- dred and there remained a large accu- mulation even at these unheard-of fig- ures for this occasion. Valley should improve in price, now that the wedding bouquets are coming in. From now on there will be enormous shipments of peonies. The south has been liberal in its supplies and the flood continues. Gladioli, iris and lilac are abundant. Sweet peas can hardly be given away and daffodils and tulips have made their departure. Schling's Enterprise Max Schling started a huge load of flowers for the Celtic, in one of his high-grade, plate glass motor trucks last Thursday morning. May 28. The truck, good for twenty years, could not withstand the shock of collision with a heavily loaded brewery wagon, and you can imagine the mixup of flower baskets and designs, plate glass and the article that made Milwaukee famous. Then came a police hold-up of twenty minutes for investigation and meantime the big ship sailed away. Then came Marconi and the wireless. Every patVon's commission will be exe- cuted on the ship's arrival at Liver- pool. Everyone to whom flowers were consigned on the vessel was notified by wireless before the ship passed out the New York harbor, and so nobody will have any fault to find. So much for the Schling style of rapid thinking and enterprise, regardless of expense. Mr. Schling had three wedding jobs for June 2 and has twenty more booked for later in the month. Various Notes. Don 't forget the final meeting of the New York Florists' Club Monda
