Every year, on the Friday before the first Advent Sunday, the Nuremberg Christ Angel officially opens the Nuremberg Christmas Market in Nuremberg, Germany, by reciting a solemn prologue. Nuremberg's Christmas Market is one of Germany's oldest Christmas fairs and dates back to the mid-16th century.
