Stærekassen (Starling Nest Box) is an Art Nouveau style theatre annex over Tordenskjoldsgade in Copenhagen Denmark designed by Architect Holger Jacobsen It is also known as the Ny Scene or New Stage and it opened in 1931 for use as an additional stage for the Royal Danish Theatre and was also the first home of the new Danish Broadcasting Corporation. The tall stage tower crosses Tordenskjoldsgade and connects Wilhelm Dahlerup's 1874 theatre building with a new corner building housing the auditorium. The Bronze facade reliefs on both sides of the stage tower were designed by Einar Utzon-Frank. The reliefs on the front towards Kongens Nytorv depict Apollo, God of musicians with the Muse of Tragedy on his right hand side and the Muse of comedy on the left. On the opposite side of the tower, Mozart with violin, representing music, is seen flanked by Eros on the swan representing dance, and Shakespeare representing drama. The Royal Danish Theatre moved to a new building on the waterfront in 2008 and the building is now used as an event space
