Cigarette card with illustration of Captain (George) Eyston's 'Thunderbolt', which in 1938 was the fastest car in the world. It was fitted with two Rolls Royce engines and reached the record speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA. The card was part of an old set of cigarette cards from WD and HO Wills, Bristol and London. The set is entitled 'Speed'. These cards were given away singly in packets of cigarettes in 1938. They were (and are still) popular collector's items - vintage nineteen thirties graphics for editorial use only.
