Flame and smoke from a hotspot remain after a wildfire burned through a pine forest in rural area of Bastrop, Texas, 30 miles east of Austin. The fire remained largely out of control for nearly five days, burned nearly 40,000 acres and destroyed 1,500 houses. The area is suffering through a months-long drought.
