SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 2, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class David Newsome detains Petty Officer 2nd Class Briana Bowman, who played a suspect in an active shooter drill at Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo during exercise Guard & Protect on Nov. 4, 2016. During Guard & Protect, Japan Self-Defense Force personnel deploy to Forces Japan and JSDF joint installations throughout the country to augment their security forces as they would during an emergency.
