Koseiji - Shinwa Garden by Shigemori Mirei was named after the temple's mountain name. When the garden was designed it was with the intention to create a dry landscape garden in the shape of the character for heart. The main garden is of sea island scenery, and a garden of Horai. It is a garden of three standing stones, and seven-five-three stone arrangements, which all combine to create a dry landscape garden. There are many gardens with the character heart in them, especially among pond gardens, but none of them among dry landscape gardens. Heart is the seat of wisdom, emotion, and will, and is also used in the meaning of the center. A curved sandbar shape, includes the meaning of an island in the sea and the Horai Islands, and an abstracted character of each stroke of the character heart along with the three-dimensional height difference of the mountain. The stone arrangement arranged on it is the standing stone at the very back of the large island, which, together with the two stones on the left and right, is a triad of stones. This triad, along with the four stones on the outside of the large island, makes up a total of seven stones, and the four stones on the two islands at the back and the principal image stone make up a total of five stones, making a total of seventy-five-stones. The white sand throughout the garden is an expression of the ocean, and therefore, while respecting the intention of the dry landscape garden, which does not use a single tree, we have endeavored to express the integrity of a Zen temple garden. he Kokorowa Garden in front of the main hall is the ultimate Shigemori Mirei garden, with moss-covered hills and Awa blue stones arranged in white sand.
