The hand is of rubber, aspreviously described, and capable of being attached to the arm byspindle, ball-and-socket, mortise-and-tennon joints, or by being rigidlyconnected. The latter is preferable when minimum weight is anobject. The arm is capable of being locked at the elbow and, when thestump is not too long, it is made to rotate above the elbow.
