The merit of this non-saccharine sorg-hum is, that when cut for feeding it starts again from the remaining stumps with renewed strength and vigor. Thrives in the hottest and driest localities. Lb., 20c.; 100 lbs., $ Jerusalem Corn, One of the best and surest for dry countries and seasons. Grows about three feet high, with one large head on main stalk and several smaller heads on side shoots. The grains are white and nearly- flat. Lb., 20c.: 100 lbs., $ HEMP. If raised for manufacturing must be sown broadcast at the rate of one-half bushel to the acre; if for seed, should be planted in hills four feet apart, and the plants' thinned out to three or four most vigorous stems in each hill. Lb., 25c.; bu., $ FLAX. Sow late enough in the spring to avoid frost, and early enough to secure the early rains. A fair average quantit}^ of seed to be sown on an acre is one-half bushel, when cultivated for seed; if for fiber, a larger quantity should be sown. Lb., 25.; pk., 50c.; bu., $ Russian. We have some very choice seed of this, much superior in every way to common flax. It will increase the yield and add to the value of the product. Most of the flax of the country is badly run out.
