The national government has supplied the College with 475 riflesand an equal number of sets of infantry accouterments; also two three-inch field-guns and carriages. Swords, target supplies and annual issuesof ball and blank cartridges are also received from the general s;ovem-ment. Organization. Cadets are organized into two battalions of infantryand a band, the drill and administration of which shall conform to thatof the United States army. Officers and non-commissioned officers are se-lected by the professor of military science and tactics, with the approval 122 Kansas State Agricultural 1 Company A. of the President, according to the principles governing such selection atthe United States Military Academy, and receive commissions and war-rants from the President of the College. Discipline. Each cadet is furnished with a copy of the cadet regula-tions governing the military department, approved by the Board of Re-gents, and is required to familiarize himself with them and to conformstrictly to their requirements. Band. Assignments to the band are made by the band leader, who with the technical instruction. Practice in the band is accredited,through the military department, in lieu of drill and theoretical instruc-tion, subject to the provisions of the cadet regulations, with which strictconformity is required. The purpose of the cadet band is to foster and encourage among thecadets a love for patriotic national airs and martial music. Requirements. All
