PALERMO, Italy (April 1, 2014) - Sailors aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Mason (DDG 87) prepare to moor to the pier in Palermo, Italy. Mason, as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, is operating in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts as it completes a 9-month deployment to the U. S. 6th and 5th Fleet areas of operations.
