Henry William Schroeder, whose sacrifice for his country will be spoken of withpride so long as the annals of Orange County tell to future generations the devotionand suffering of Santa Ana youth, entered the United States service in September, trained at Camp Lewis in Company D of the Three-hundred March he was sent to Camp Green, N. C, where he was transferred to Company Mof the Forty-seventh Infantry. At Camp Green he trained for two months, when hewent East to Camp Mills, N. J., and set sail for France. In such a death as thisof one of the most promising of Orange Countys young men, may it not be saidthat John H.
