Opened in 1970, the Regenstein Library at the University of Chicago sits on what was once Stagg Field, site of the first Nuclear Reaction in 1942


While looking like concrete, the facade of the building is constructed from large panels of grooved limestone. With few windows the interior is dark and representative of the Brutalist Architectural design.
