A cross between Catawba and Concord, which has inherited the best characteristics of both parents developing a luscious fruit which ranks close to the greenhouse grown product in high quality and melting texture. In appearance it is one of the most beautiful of all hardy grapes, berries large, wine-red with abundant bloom carried in large compact bunches. It ripens in advance of Concord and is a strong vigorous grower. Champagne. A variety that is being extensively grown in the grape growing districts of New Jersey and which has speci;ii merit not only in the quality of its fruit but is also an exception ally strong grower and very prolific bearer.
