The Brooding Soldier


The Canadian Forces Memorial was erected in memory of the 3'000 Canadian soldiers who died during the counter-attack after the first German gas attack of April 22nd 1915. The monument situated near the village of Saint Julian (Sint Juliaan) was designed by F C Clemeshaw and dates from 1921.
