For his services in apprehending one ormore of the murderers of King James i., the grandson ofthat monarch, King James iii., on 17 December 1473,granted the barony of Lawers to him, Margaret Stirlinghis wife, and his heirs-male by her.^ He appears to havedied in 1475, and to have been buried in Kilmartin on the26 September in that year.
