Bronze statue of a naiad situated in the Magnolia Garden at Penshurst Place, an historic house dating from the 14th century. The house is the ancestral home of the Sidney family. One of its most famous members, Sir Philip Sydney, was born at Penshurst. The statue featured here is dedicated to Jacqueline, Vicountess De L'Isle (1914 - 1962) who died whilst her husband was Governor General of Australia. Another version of this statue overlooks Lake Burley Griffin from the grounds of Government House, Canberra, Australia. It was given by Lord De L'Isle in 1988 in honour of the bi-centenary of Australia. The piece is by Patiance Devas.
