A riding-sword, South German or Swiss, circa 1600 Double-edged blade (heavily pitted) of lenticular cross-section. The forte with a shallow fuller stamped with the inscription "ANTANI" between decorative borders. The ricasso with a double cross mark stamped on both sides. Large swept hilt with a perforated guard plate on each side. The quillon ends curved to form a shallow "S" shape. Original helically fluted grip retaining the Turk's heads.
