Rimonabant. Computer model of a molecule of the anti-obesity drug rimonabant. This drug works by suppressing the patient's appetite. It has been developed by Sanofi-Aventis, and will be sold under the brand names Acomplia and Zimulti. On 21 June 2006, it was approved for use in the European Union. Approval has not yet been granted by the licensing authorities in the USA. The molecule's chemical formula is Atoms (spheres) are colour-coded: carbon (yellow), hydrogen (white), chlorine (green), nitrogen (dark blue), oxygen (red).
