For field culture, prepare ground as for other crops. Plant 6 by 4 feet, requiring 1,805 plants to the acre. Any kind of soil suitable for corn is suitable for all kinds of small EARLY CLUSTER BLACKBERRY. Early Cluster. A new variety. The disseminator says : The Early Cluster is a vigorous, healthy grower, hardy, and extremely productive ; berries are medium to large size and of the best quality, sufficiently firm to ship, al- though sweet, and have no hard bitter core like some varieties; ripens the whole crop in a few days and very early ; are gone when the Taylor and Snyder begin to ripen. Thiriee7i quarts have been taken from a single hill at one picking. Early Harvest.
