Though it has lost something of its former prestige andmuch of its ])opu!ation by the removal of the capital to Bangkok,it is still regarded as an important phxce as well as centre for futureoperations. Miss Dickey was unable to continue her work at Petchabtiri onaccount of health. The Industrial School at this station is in needof another teacher. There has been no change in the agencies employed for the en-lightenment and moral iini»rovenient of the p-ople at Bangkok ; thepulpit, the press, and the school have all been at v/ork, with theobject of reaching and saving some. The aulienees at the ])reach-ing serv ces have been attentive and encouraging. To the church,two have been added on profession of their faith, and one for habitual drunkenness.
