First, Red 3 suffered an engineering issue and was unable to join the rest of the squad as they left base. Then, despite good weather being forecast in Portrush, low cloud and rain showers apppeared shortly before the Red Arrows were due to arrive. First, Red 3 suffered an engineering issue and was unable to join the rest of the squad as they left base. Then, despite good weather being forecast in Portrush, low cloud and rain showers apppeared shortly before the Red Arrows were due to arrive. This meant that they were unable to perform their routine due to safety issues as visiblity was very poor. They did however manage to complete some basic maneuvers and fly pasts to the delight of the disappointed but understanding crowds watching
