One enthusiastic gentleman gives $10 for a pickle-bottle full of small agates; another pays $5 for a big one. Pipes are bought, and reft from Indian mouths at twenty-five cents each. I, as promised that morning by Godfroy, get a pipe which at once renders me the envy of all.
