Francisco Canton Rosado (1833 - 1917) was a political conservative and military Mexican , born in Valladolid , Yucatan . Governor of Yucatán from 1898 to 1902. From the age of 16 fought in the so-called Caste War against the insurgents Mayan Indians. He supported the empire of Maximilian against the republican forces of Benito Juárez . Years later, in 1876, supported the Plan of Tuxtepec proclaimed by Porfirio Diaz
