The Port of Haifa is the largest in Israel; it has natural deep-water harbor operating all year long, and serves both passenger and merchant ships. It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean in terms of freight volume and handles about 30 million tons of cargo per year. Here we see its container port and its gantry cranes early in the morning, viewed from our cruise ship entering the harbour, with two more moored cruise ship in view.
