A Chalcidian helmet, 5th/4th century A bronze helmet with a distinctly offset, rounded bowl and a marked gabled brow. The rim of the brow section is reinforced and has a short nasal attached. The rim of the neck guard is flared outwards. Cheek flaps, cutouts have been left for the ears. The long, curved cheek guards are suspended by rivetted hinges, and have holes for securing a chinstrap. A mounting for three tubular plume holders (of which one survives) is rivetted to the crown.
