General Penis sheaths were worn by the Southern Nguni, but were generally made of other materials. Carved wooden penis sheaths are recorded for one group only. Bhaca Penis sheaths of carved wood were amongst the types worn by Bhaca men (Kohler in Hammond-Tooke 1962: 81).
