An avocado seedling grown from the stone of an avocado fruit. Cocktail sticks are inserted into the very outer skin of the stone and then balanced over water. The glass is placed in a sunny position and after several days a main root will appear followed by the stem and leaves. Once enough roots have formed, the cocktail sticks can be removed and the stone can be planted into a growing medium where it will continue to thrive and grow.
