Hounds on the large size are not suitable for thiscountry owing to parts of it being hilly, and we likeif possible to get 24-inch dogs, and 22| to 23-inchbitches. We had a very fair season last year, foundplenty of foxes, and killed a satisfactory number. The kennel sent to Peterborough in 1913 a smartcouple of unentered bitches, Statue, by SouthStaffordshire Stentor, and Votary by Bold Reynard Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn A family pack founded by the first Sir WatkinWilliams-Wynn who was killed out hunting in was in 1843 that the Wynnstay hunt commencedunder the rule of the sixth baronet, who reignedbetween 1843 and 1885, memorable in the annalsof the chase for sport and hound breeding. In1848 Sir Watkin secured as huntsman old JohnWalker from the Fife, although Lord Suffieldoffered him £500 a year to remain. The present Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, theseventh baronet, followed his uncle in the master-ship in the year 1885, and often hunts houndshimself.
