A German writing set, probably from Saxony, circa 1600 Ceramic with green glaze. Finely modelled reliefs on all sides, the top applied with fluted knobs. Obverse motto (tr.) "God have mercy", behind this the portrayal of Jesus at the temple. At the sides and back portrayal of the four evangelists in their scriptoria. The inserts for inkwell and sandbox probably added. One tension crack, partially bumped.
