While some of these figures must be changed before there can bereason to boast of the qualifications of Montana teachers, still thesplendid increases in summer school enrollment provide a cause forcongratulation. With approximately 1,400 teachers or persons preparingto teach taking courses at Montana schools last year, to say nothing ofthe number who attended in other states, which shows an excellentincrease over previous years, there appears to be reason for the con-clusion that Montana teachers on the whole are awake to the necessityof improvement while in service and are taking advantage of theopportunities inn flfi
