In this Egyptian wall painting, Isis, the Mother Goddess (here seated), suckles her son Horus in a papyrus swamp. Her husband and the father of Horus was Osiris, who was also her brother. Set, Isis' and Osiris' brother, had killed Osiris. To escape Set and to keep Horus out of his reach, according to Egyptian mythology, Isis took refuge in a papyrus swamp.
