20180813_ZA_ Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh Women of the Apatani tribe are known to be beautiful. Men from other tribes used to kidnap them and force them to marry. The Apatani found a trick to prevent this from happening: they tattooed their faces and had them wear nose plugs, which were meant to make them ugly, hence stopping the kidnappings.
