Personalised virtual twin. Wire-frame model of a 3-D head that can be used to personalise computer displays, mobile telephones and even computer game characters. The 3-D model (avatar) is created from two views of a person's head. The two views, one in profile and one face-on, are combined using specialised software. Each wire acts as a muscle, and groups of wires can be lengthened or shortened to make the head express emotions or simulate speech. This technology was created by Digimask, of Surrey, England.
