Cymbidium scale, Lepidosaphes machili (Maskell), closely resembles other oystershell scales, but is found only on cymbidium orchids. Severe infestations are occasionally found in California greenhouses. Mackie scale, Lepidosaphes mackiana Mc- Kenzie, closely resembles other oystershell scales, but is found beneath the sheath on stems of dendrobium orchids.
