Speedboat speed trials used to be held on Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park. Various classes of boat take part endeavouring to set new fastest speed records for power boats. Following the introduction of a 10mph [miles per hour] speed limit on Windermere the trials now take place on Coniston Water.
