M., BLACK AND GOLD 73 PINE WHISPERS This year marks the beginning of our high school newspaper,christened Pine Whispers by popular vote. If the newspaper wasan experiment, then there is no doubt that it has proved a successfulone. At the beginning of the year a prize of ten dollars was offeredthe student suggesting the best name for the newspaper. Evidentlygreat minds run in the same channel for the name Pine Whisperswas suggested by Katherine Boyles, Edwina Martin, and James this title received the majority of votes in the school, each ofthe authors was awarded five dollars. The newspaper staff was selected by the faculty from a numberof candidates with the view of using people interested in student was permitted to serve on both the newspaper and themagazine staff. The staff, with Elizabeth Wilkinson as Editor-in-Chief, and Laila Wright as Managing Editor, has been able to pre-sent the school with a good paper every week, an accomp
