Illustration of the Israeli-American biochemist Arieh Warshel (born 1940). Warshel is best known for his work in computational biochemistry. He is a pioneer in the computational modelling of chemical reactions and protein folding using both classical and quantum physics. He was awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, along with the British-US biophysicist Michael Levitt and US-Austrian theoretical chemist Martin Karplus, for his work.
